Coronas smoke machine fluids have been purposefully formulated to
complement the design of each smoke machine to produce the
highest quality artificial smoke in the industry. Used as
prescribed, Corona fluids generate aerosol particles that
have a diameter of 0.3 micron. (a micron is one
thousandth of a millimeter) There are two types of fluid: water and oil based. Water based "smoke" spreads quickly and ensures low visibility for an extended period of time. WATER BASED FLUIDS AND THEIR USES
Coronas new 300C,
"semi persistent", smoke fluid is especially
formulated for applications where quick dispursement is required,
as in airflow visualization/evaluation projects.
OIL BASED FLUIDS AND THEIR USES
Both types of fluid have been thoroughly tested (UK Health & Safety Executive, Canadas National Occupational Health Service, and the UK Ministry of Defense). They produce "smoke" that is non-toxic and non-flammable and represent no carcinogenic risks. Coronas oil based smoke fluid complies with US Food and Drug Administration regulations.
Coronas generators are carefully calibrated to ensure complete vaporization of the fluid and to prevent any toxic by-products. Independent third-party assessment (UK Atomic Weapons Establishment) has confirmed that there is no decomposition of smoke fluids in Coronas generators. Corona typically
recommends the use of oil based "smoke" in
controlled industrial and scientific settings and favors
water based "smoke" for such applications as
security and special effects.
