CORONA VICOUNT AVIATOR SMOKE GENERATOR

A derivative of Corona’s prime industrial machine, the AVIATOR smoke generator meets the exacting performance criteria of the largest aircraft manufacturer in the world. Its designed use is to test the performance of smoke alarm sensors. The unit can be regulated to produce varying quantities of smoke to simulate defined emergency conditions and can be used aboard an aircraft.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
Corona smoke oil is broken down into a fine mist by adding an inert gas (CO2 or N). The mist is passed under pressure into a heat exchanger, where it vaporizes. The vapor condenses on reaching the air to form a visible, dry, dense "smoke" which can be heated in the Aviator chimney to accelerate its rise to the ceiling of the test area. The liquid particles produced by the Aviator have a diameter much smaller than that of conventional smoke generators. They hold less than one hundredth the amount of liquid and drop at a rate that is fourteen times slower. The Aviator can produce smoke at maximum output continuously. No re-heating cycle is required.
